Instructions

Molding Creator decorative profiles are widely used in facades decorations. They are not the construction elements but they raise the aesthetic value of buildings.

Before installation the profiles should be kept in dry storerooms at temperature of +10˚C to +25˚C.

Manual or mechanical saw, measure tape, mitre box, putty knife, metal swat, brush, pencil, mechanical or thermal milling machine, stone or sandpaper.
Before starting the installation, measure the number of profiles very precisely and cut them to the expected dimensions.

Step 1

  • Use tape-measure or roulette to measure surface a molding will be applied to.
  • Calculate a required number of profiles precisely.
  • Cut off a profile excess to fit your dimensions.
  • Use miter box to make accurate angled cuts.

Step 2

On each profile’s end mill a shallow groove (0.2 inch depth) just under the protective coating.

Use a rotary tool to mill protective coating on the profile’s end at 45 degrees. For step 2 apply grinding head to a rotary tool.

  • For sticking exterior profiles to surface use Molding Creator elastic, two-component adhesive.
  • For interior profiles use our special adhesive for internal usage.
  • Both chemicals should be used at temperature of 50°F to 85°F. Surface must be clean and dry.

NOTICE! Outdoor work should be done during days free from rain and fog.

Step 3

  • Use a pencil to mark surface borders for further molding installation.
  • Put adhesive both on required surface and a profile.
  • Use a putty knife and/or a trowel to spread mass evenly to obtain a thin layer.
  • Stick a profile to the surface. Remove the excess of the squeezed adhesive with a putty knife.

NOTICE! If You going to use third-party adhesive, we recommend to test it before installation. In this case, we cannot guarantee the desired durability.

Step 4

  • When it is perfectly dry, fill the joints with the flexible Molding Creator putty.
  • Use fine-grained type for filling internal profiles and coarse-grained for outside ones.
  • Put the mass with a putty knife and fill joints carefully.
  • Use it at ambient temperature of 50 °F to 88 °F.
  • Wait until it is totally dry.

NOTICE! Painting joints which are not dry enough are the reason for cracks.

Step 5

  • Use sandpaper to polish the joints. They should be smooth and almost imperceptible.
  • Now moldings can be painted in any color.
  • We offer the Molding Creator dispersion paint. In case of using other types of paint, first test it.
